Selected a ‘Women of Influence’
Fort Worth, Texas (Oct. 7, 2011) -- Decker
Jones partner Patricia B. Cole will be recognized as a 2011 Great Women of
Texas, Women of Influence by The Fort
Worth Business Press Nov. 9 at the Fort Worth Club.
“We are delighted to be able to salute and recognize a group of outstanding
women who have shown significant accomplishments in business, who have excelled
in civic contributions and who have worked tirelessly for philanthropic causes,”
said Mary Schlegel of The Business Press. “Patricia’s passion and perseverance
are to be admired.”
Cole last month was recognized as
a Legacy of Women business honoree by SafeHaven, whose mission is to end
domestic violence through safety, support, prevention and social change.
"I’m stunned … and happy,” Cole said. “I give my time and energy to make a
difference in the community because there are needs and volunteering is
something that brings personal satisfaction. I am very flattered about the
recognition. These are very distinguished honors."
Cole’s areas of practice focus on Probate Litigation, Estate Planning, Business
Litigation and Corporate Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas,
Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant
County Probate Bar, Texas
Guardianship Association and a Fellow of the Tarrant County Bar Foundation.
Cole’s community activities are numerous during the past 15 years. She is a
board member of Clark Educational Services Inc., and a volunteer for Fort Worth
Habitat for Humanity, Lena Pope Home, Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, Big
Brothers Big Sisters and the Greater Fort Worth Humane Society. This year, Gov.
Rick Perry appointed her to a six-year term on the Family and Protective
Services Council to help develop rules and policies that help protect children
and individuals who are elderly or have disabilities from abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Cole received a bachelor’s degree
from Louisiana State University
and a law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
In addition to her law practice, Cole is co-owner of Lone Star Bavarian, Inc.,
a BMW, Mercedes and Mini service facility.
