Civil Litigation
Our Civil Litigation Practice Group represents the firm’s corporate and individual clients in the prosecution and defense of various tort and contract claims in all Texas state and federal civil courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration panels. Members of the section have successfully handled cases involving a wide range of legal issues, including commercial disputes, business torts, real estate disputes, oil and gas litigation, construction law, employment disputes, products liability, personal injury litigation, medical malpractice claims, insurance coverage, and transportation litigation.
COLLECTIONS – Members of our Civil and Commercial Litigation Sections assist our clients in securing payment of outstanding debts, including, if necessary, prosecuting collections cases in the court system. Our attorneys work with clients to develop the most cost-efficient collections strategy, which frequently results in successful recovery of unpaid debts.
PERSONAL INJURY – Members of the firm’s litigation section regularly defend clients against a wide range of personal injury claims, including health care liability claims, automobile accidents, slip-and-fall cases, premises liability claims, wrongful death claims, catastrophic injury cases, and transportation liability claims.
MEDICAL MALPRACTICE – Our litigation attorneys regularly represent hospitals, doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals at both the trial and appellate levels in the defense of health care liability claims.
EMPLOYMENT LITIGATION – Members of the firm’s Employment Practice Group often collaborate with our litigation attorneys to represent corporate and individual clients in a variety of employment litigation issues, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, defamation, workers’ compensation, breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, and claims involving covenants not to compete.
REAL ESTATE LITIGATION – Members of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group often collaborate with our litigation attorneys to represent developers, purchasers, commercial and residential builders, contractors, tenants, and lenders in all manner of real estate cases, including boundary disputes, contract disputes, construction defect claims, title disputes, and other related litigation matters.
OIL & GAS LITIGATION – Members of the firm’s litigation section frequently represent clients in a variety of energy litigation matters regarding oil and gas lease interpretations, disputes between producers and royalty owners, personal injury matters, products liability litigation, and other complex commercial disputes.
PRODUCTS LIABILITY DEFENSE – Decker Jones represents clients in the defense of manufacturers and sellers of allegedly defective products. Decker Jones also defends companies who are sued by injured plaintiffs due to alleged defects in the design or manufacture of a product.
